Sensory neurons are neurons of the central nervous system that help to convert some particular type of stimulus through their receptors into action potentials. It is also called afferent neurons. The cell bodies of sensory neurons is located in the dorsal gangalia of the spinal cord. The sensory neurons is divided into two; the external receptors which respond to stimuli from outside and the internal receptord which respond to stimuli from inside through their receptors.

The external include smell, taste, vision ,auditory receptors while the internal receptors are blood, noicereceptors.
