Question:

The right atrioventricular opening is covered by the ______ valve

Answer:

The right atrioventricular opening is covered by the right atrioventricular valve or the tricuspid valve.

The right atrioventricular valve is one out of four-valve of the heart. It prevents the backflow of blood that is coming from the right ventricle, the blood from right ventricle is supposed to go in the pulmonary artery. If the right atrioventricular valve is not there the blood will come from the right ventricle to the right atrium, this will disfunction the heart system.

The other three valves of the heart are :

  1. Pulmonary valve- Allow blood from the right ventricle to the lungs.
  2. Mitra valve - prevent blood to flow in the left  atrium from the left ventricle
  3. Aortic valve- Prevent the blood from going from the left ventricle to the aotra.
